Pattern and Texture

Bathroom furniture and fittings with subtle patterns and textures add interest to otherwise banal bathroom spaces.

Designers Jean-François D’Or and Frédérique Ficheroulle have created a modular bathroom furniture line for Belgian brand Vika that features fixtures, fittings and accessories with contrasting straight and curved lines, gridded surface patterns and a variety of finishes.

Thomas Coward’s Motif basin for Omvivo has a hand-etched glass bottom and a thermoformed Staron® surround in Bright White. A spacer between the bottom of the basin and the countertop makes the basin appear as if it were floating and allows the etched glass to cast decorative shadows on the surface below.

The Dune sanitaryware Collection by French interior designer Caroline Beaupere for AF New York is inspired by the Siwa Oasis in the Libyan Desert in Egypt. The cocooning egg-shaped tub is available with a smooth surface or with a gently textured exterior that resembles patterns in the sand or the reflection of ripples in water.

The George collection of bathroom fittings by Italian brand Falper feature opulent finishes such as steel, brushed copper, hardwood, Baxter leather and marble stacked, one on top of the other, to create tactile totem-like bath tubs and washbasins with layers of texture and color.

Made from Laufen‘s super strong but lightweight SaphirKeramik material Konstantin Grcic‘s washbasin designs are composed of geometric shapes, patterns and textures of varying sizes.
