Integrated Sinks: Kitchen Trend

Multifunctional sinks that blend seamlessly into the kitchen work surface are currently enjoying a wave of popularity. Designers are cleverly integrating sinks with other kitchen accessories, to create more flexible and larger prep spaces.

As well as being great for those who are short on space, these sleek designs often include removable work surfaces or chopping boards that provide a clever way of concealing visible sink mess.

Blanco_Crystalline

Perfect for small spaces, the 18-gauge stainless steel Crystalline Sink by Blanco America comes with a black or white safety glass cover that can also be used as cutting board. Thanks to MicroEdge™ technology, the Crystaline Sink has a seamless flushmount appearance against virtually any counter material.

Kohler_Stages

Going one step further, the Stages undermount sink from Kohler includes a chopping board, a tray with prep bowls, and a raised wet prep/draining area. Stages was created in collaboration with the chefs at Kohler’s Five Diamond resort hotel who wanted to simplify the cooking and cleanup processes. Most interestingly, the stainless steel design features an engineered sound-absorption system that significantly reduces disposal and dishwashing noise.

Elkay_Avado

Avado is a topmount polished stainless steel sink by Elkay that is made for customization. Customers can add on their own configuration of various sizes of drainage trays and wooden chopping board that slot into Avado’s design. Both single and double bowl styles are available.

Blanco_Ronis

Blanco America’s Ronis is called the Entertainment Sink because of its integrated, versatile accessories that make food preparation easy. A rotating tray with an integrated bowl and colander floats above the spacious round sink, while a half moon-shaped, glass cutting board sits on top, flush with the countertop.

Water Zone_Dornbracht

Inspired by professional kitchens, the Water Zone Kitchen Sinks By Dornbracht can be tailored to perform any kitchen activity – from preparing, cooking and cleaning to drinking. Available components include a professional spray mixer with an adjustable stream for gentle cleaning and rinsing, a separate cutting board, a pot filler, a water filter and a hot water tank.
