Seamless Sinks: Bathroom Trend
Simple and elegant, these minimalist basin designs cleverly conceal unsightly drains from view.
Designed by Neunzig° Design for Boffi, the smooth white Corian® surface of the Folio washbasin is asymmetrically inclined allowing the water to drain into the corner.
Made in white synthetic resin, the gently sloping plane of Cosmic Studio’s Compact basin ensures that the water drains away into a linear drain slot. The space-saving design also features a handy built-in storage shelf beneath the basin. The design is available in a number of different storage and basin configurations.
When viewed from the front, the drain of Jean-Michel Wilmotte’s basin for Rapsel is cleverly concealed from view behind the raised faucet platform. The platform also serves as storage for soap and other bathroom accessories.
Available in both square or rectangular models, Antonio Lupi’s top- or wall-mounted Slot 21 basin is made in Corian and features an integrated siphon. As the name suggests, the water seamlessly drains away through a slim slot at the back of the basin.
Shown here in a matt white marble-based resin called Cristalplant, Italian brand Falper‘s considered basins are available in a range of shapes, sizes and finishes. Cleverly, the drains, also made in Cristalplant, sit flush with the bowl of the basin, making them a seamless component of the design.
