Convenience Through Technology: Dornbracht Presents the eUnit Kitchen
Based on a product study conducted in 2011 that examined the added value electronically controlled fittings provide in kitchen applications, Dornbracht has developed the first electronic product solution for the kitchen. Featuring electronically controlled fittings, eUnit Kitchen simplifies work processes in the kitchen and supports the functions of water dispensing, flow regulation and temperature, as well as plug operation.
Scheduled to launch over the coming months, the eUnit Kitchen electronic control concept combines the controls for different functions into a single control unit.
Highlights include a foot sensor that acts as a missing ‘third hand’ for hands-free water dispensing. In addition, a water dispensing function that releases water in measured amounts, means that the eUnit Kitchen can dispense the exact volume of water required – a feature that is especially useful when it comes to following recipes.
Thanks to its compact construction, the eUnit Kitchen can be simply installed beneath the sink without taking up too much space. The minimalist controls are seamlessly designed into the sink unit and only light up when in use.
Dornbracht explains, “The aura of light that glows when the controls are operated announces activity and lends the eUnit a gentle, atmospheric touch. During development, particular attention was given to a simple, space-saving installation: thanks to its compact construction, the eUnit Kitchen can be situated in ‘plug-‘n’-play’ fashion beneath the sink without taking up too much space.”
