Kartell by Laufen / The Bathroom Project
What do you get when you cross vibrant, high quality plastic furniture design with Swiss precision engineering? The answer is Laufen and Kartell’s new bathroom collection.
Making its debut at the bathroom design trade show ISH in Frankfurt Germany, the collection is designed by Milanese designers and architects Ludovica+Roberto Palomba. The duo have managed to combine Kartell’s love of soft rounded lines, layers of transparency and glossy finishes with Laufen’s 120+ years of experience in bathroom manufacture to create a playful but sophisticated bathroom collection.
Kartell’s familiar palette of bright primaries is softened into an elegant mix of vivid orange, midnight blue, bright white and accents of shimmering gold and silver. The collection includes wall mounted and freestanding washbasins, cabinets, seating, a wall mirror, shelving, a shower tray, a bathtub, lights and accessories.
Ludovica+Roberto Palomba told us, “Innovative, rich in emotion, transparency and colour, the Kartell by Laufen bathroom is the synthesis of the work we have done in recent years in the world of the bathroom and represents an important step forward in this sector.”
The collection will be on display at the ISH 2013 in Frankfurt until March 16 and then unveiled to the general public at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan next month.
