ECAL Students Create Inventive Glass Spouts For Axor’s U-Base

Presented during this year’s Salone del Mobile 2015, the Axor U-Base is a new fixture design that allows users to swap the spout.

Thanks to an innovative click-in system that allows spouts to easily be attached and detached, countless possibilities for individual bathroom visions exist.

In addition, 15 special surface finishes are available through the Axor Manufaktur, an exclusive service area within the Hansgrohe production facilities.

As part of Axor’s 20-year-old ‘WaterDream’ progam, Axor worked together with ECAL, the renowned University of Art and Design in Lausanne, Switzerland, to develop a series of hand-blown glass spouts that can be used in conjunction with the new U-base.

“With ECAL we found a creative partner who approached our Axor WaterDream project with great passion and an artistic spirit,” explains Philippe
Grohe, Head of Axor.

The fixture components and unique spouts will be on display until the end of the Milan Expo, October 31, 2015 at the Axor showroom Durini Quindici in Milan’s Via Durini 15.
