Artematica Vitrum Arte by Valcucine
At this year’s EuroCucina in Milan, Italian brand Valcucine revealed its Artematica Vitrum glass with new patterns inspired by Middle Eastern mosaics.
Designed by Gabriele Centazzo, Aretmatica Vitrum features 100% recyclable glass base units housed within a recycled aluminum frame.
Slim and clean-cut, the Artematica Vitrum base unit system is joined using only mechanical joints without the use of glues and formaldehyde, making it easy to assemble and disassemble. As well as being vapour and heat resistance, the use of glass considerably reduces the volume of material used, meaning less waste of energy and resources.
The patterns are made using a special technique to create various inlaid decors on glass: a very high-tech process that is deeply-rooted in handicraft tradition. The drawings are cut out of coloured film and applied to tempered glass panels by hand. These panels will then become the kitchen’s doors, worktops and side panels.
